LiON’S LAIR Pitch Competition and Gala

The LiON’S LAIR competition gives the Hamilton community the opportunity to experience the thrill of start-up investment as aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators face a panel of Hamilton’s top business executives and solicit over $150,000 in cash and professional resources.

In 2013, 2014, and 2015 I was responsible for the management of all stages of the competition, including the selection of the ten finalists, finalists training, dress rehearsals, filming pitches in a TV studio environment, and the coordination of the LiON’S LAIR Awards Gala. Ensuring that the media was engaged through all aspects of the competition was also key to the overall success of the event.

Each year we were challenged with ensuring the event was not only newsworthy but also exciting for gala attendees and a great opportunity for the finalists.

All three events were very successful with 450+ gala attendees, over $150,000 injected into Hamilton startup companies, and various media hits across the community.
